Meet new people in New York City

Hi guys
I am new to this web page, I would like to meet new people since my friends have started traveling abroad and I do not want to be locked in my house all the time. NYC is a great city of lights and there are so many things to do around, so many bars and restaurants, places to go dancing, different art seeing and exhibitions, concerts … hey whatever idea you have let me know, I am open for new suggestions.
